CAMROSE, Alberta — Yesterday the Canadian Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame display was one of several components of the School Education Program of the Camrose Bull Congress. Students learn about various aspects of agriculture and the western lifestyle as part of the congress.
Hall of Fame board member and rodeo secretary Catherine Laycraft was joined by bullfighter Brett Monea and rodeo announcer Dustin Edwards for the day. They educated and entertained a total of over 500 grade 3 and 4 students from the Battle River School Division.
The school program is sponsored by the Camrose County and is held annually, the week of the bull congress. This is the first year that the Canadian Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame has taken part in the event and everyone involved felt that it was a very worthwhile endeavor. Rodeo was very well represented and it is quite possible that this experience may cultivate the interests of some future rodeo enthusiasts and fans.
