Young in Familiar Territory to Kick Off 2015

PONOKA, Alberta and BARRIERE, British Columbia — Cole Young finished off the 2014 Bull Riders Canada Season as the second ever National Champion. Three events into the 2015 season, Young is back on top.

A second-place finish in Eriksdale, MB and a third-place finish at the New Year’s Eve Buckin’ Bash in Ponoka, AB has him leading the field by 210 points.

Scores of 77.5 in the long go and a big 87.5 on Trendon from the Wild Hoggs in the short go for the Alder Flats, AB athlete were bested only by Ponoka man Zane Lambert and 2013 BRC Champion Brian Hervey.

Lambert’s 81.5 and 88 earned him the event win in Ponoka worth $1,584 and through the roof confidence heading towards Baltimore, MD the next morning for the first PBR Built Ford Tough Series event of 2015.

Across the rocks in Barriere, BC at the Farm Kids Fund Bullarama Fundraiser, two scores won the top money for Shaun Greenhough. With that, he sits second overall in the BRC after three events. Kyle Primeau’s 82 on Nervous Breakdown from Coyote Creek Rodeo won the short go and earned Primeau over $2,000 for a second-place finish.
