Number Eight on the EC Top Twelve of 2012 – Tanner Byrne wins the CFR Average Title
Drayton Valley, AB: Coming in at number eight on Everything Cowboy’s Top Twelve of 2012 is Tanner Byrne’s Canadian Finals Rodeo Average win in just his second trip to the CFR. It’s one of the most prestigious title in all of Canada, it comes with a pretty good check too. It was around $30,000 for Tanner this year when you count up what he won in the rounds.
It might be the first time Tanner has won the average and the second time he’s qualified for Edmonton but it surely won’t be the last. It’s likely that he will be one of the contenders for beating Scott Schiffner’s CFR qualification record in about ten years.
Thanks to Juxtapose Productions, the makers of Hell on Hooves, for this video from the CFR with all of Byrne’s rides. The highlight for him is probably round three on the Big Stone bull Pop Evil for 87 points and the go round buckle!
Like you saw in the video there, Tanner can get himself into a wreck or two as well. In my opinion he had one of the worst wrecks of the year back in Ottawa, ON on the 14th of January.
Talk about a hangup. It wasn’t over right then either at the end of the video. Crazy enough though if you believe it, he got on about twenty minutes later in the short go.
Speaking of wrecks, you can remember to watch for them around the 27th of December. Right before all of the Ponoka Rodeo Masters events to wrap up the year starting on December 28th with the Family Movie Night.
