Northlands congratulates Murry Milan as new Canadian Professional Rodeo Association President
EDMONTON, AB –Murry Milan of Three Hills, Alberta has been named the Canadian Professional Rodeo Association (CPRA) President. Voted on by CPRA regular members, the president oversees the association which promotes and manages the professional conduct of the sport in Canada while advocating on behalf their membership, primarily composed of cowboys and cowgirls. The final event of the CPRA season is the Canadian Finals Rodeo (CFR) which has been held at Rexall Place at Northlands since 1974.
“On behalf of Northlands, I would like to congratulate Murry on his new role as CPRA President,” said Richard L. Andersen, President and CEO of Northlands. “We’re pleased Murry has taken on this new role and look forward to working with him as we get ready for the 40th anniversary of the CFR in 2013.”
“Through the Canadian Finals Rodeo and the Canadian National College Finals Rodeo, the sport of rodeo is an integral part of what we do,” said CFR Commissioner John Windwick. “Murry will certainly add a lot of value and knowledge to the position and I look forward to his input in the coming months.”
A former steer wrestler, Murry continues to be involved in rodeo through his three sons, Baillie, Tanner and Straws, who are regular competitors on the CPRA circuit.
