MONTREAL, Quebec (March 12, 2011) – A packed house witnessed Josh Ehlers of New Rockford, ND, dominate the Professional Bull Riders (PBR) Canadian Cup Series Saturday night at Bell Centre, taking home $7,514.00. Ehlers covered G-Force (Mark Reed) for 82.5 points in Round 1. Advancing to the Championship Round, Ehlers held on for eight atop Hard Rock(J Bar W Ranch) for 83 points, earning the North Dakota cowboy his first Cup Series win.
“What an awesome win,” commented Ehlers. “I just started coming up to Canada again and finally put it together tonight. It felt great to win in a packed house.”
Capturing second overall was Jeston Mead of Ashland, KS , who rode Jim Bean (Chausse Bucking Bulls) for 81.5 points in Round 1 and covered Cherry Bomb (Chausse Bucking Bulls) in the Championship Round for a score of 80.5. Third in the average went to five-time World Finals qualifier Matt Bohon of Cole Camp, MO, who rode Leroy Brown (Mark Reed) for 83.5 points in Round 1, followed by a 77 point ride on Chrome (Mark Reed).
Rounding out the Montreal Invitational, Australian superstar Brett Hanrahan of Rockley, NSW, earned a fourth place finish after making the buzzer on Double S Little A (J Bar W Ranch) for 78.5 points in the Championship Round.
