Milan Makes his First NFR

LAS VEGAS, Nevada – Qualifying for the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo for a Canadian is one of the toughest feats to accomplish today in Rodeo. One just as tough or maybe tougher is winning the $100,000 at the Calgary Stampede, but Straws Milan has now done both.

For Milan, competing at the NFR might not have panned out very well but he did what he needed to get there.

As the only Canadian this year, the highlight for him was carrying the Canadian flag in the grand entry for round eight, Canadian Night. Opening up the show were Wayne Vold and Shania Twain. It was quite the evening.

Straws is the first of the three Milan brothers to qualify for the NFR, his brother Tanner wasn’t far off this year either finishing within the top 25.

There’s no telling, as there might be more than one Milan at the NFR in future years.

Congratulations on making the big show Straws, here’s to winning it next year.

Tomorrow we’re on to the number one highlight of the year on Everything Cowboy’s Biggest Moments and Worst Wrecks of 2013.
