Arrowwood, AB: Kyle German is the Champion from the Bull Riders Canada event by the name of the Buffalo Hills Bull Riding tonight
Highlighting the event was how over 350 flood evacuees were treated to supper and the bull riding for free. Nate Gardner and the Buffalo Hills Bull Riding Committee put everything they had into making this event a success. Nate didn’t have much to say about the event besides “My Sponsors Rock” via text message.
Those sponsors include Bruce and June Tetz, Pioneer Grain Co. Ltd and Parrish & Heimbecker Ltd. as Platinum Sponsors; 2W Livestock Equipment Ltd and the Arrowwood Lions as Gold Sponsors; Dow Agro Sciences, Arrowwood Co-op, Lazy 2 Rodeo/Ashbacher, Calgary Stampede, Country Chrysler/Don Mills, George Ward, Rafter G Cattle Co and Geostrata Resources Inc as Silver Sponsors along with CL Johnson Portable Welding, Air Alto Applicators, Circle D Farm Services, Jacobsen Farms, KG Oilfield Hauling, Mike Swain, Mossleigh Bar & Grill, Murray Scott Truckin, Napa Auto Parts Vulcan, Penn West, Techmation Electric and Controls Ltd, Richardons Bros and Scotiabank Arrowwood as Bronze Sponsors.
Speaking of the Bull Riding, Kyle German rode Girletz’s Wanderlust to win the event as the last man out in the short go.
In the long go, German rode the Wild Hoggs’ High Voltage for the win there too.
This is what Kyle had to say after the win for nearly $5,000.
The bull of the event went to Rafter G Cattle Co’s 991 Moe Banger. This is a bull we first saw last year and has grown up a bit more now and keeps getting better.
Another thing I noticed in the bull riding was how a bull rider fell off of Cruel Girl’s Uncle Moe. I’m thinking there might have to be an award involving having to wear a certain brand of jeans if a guy doesn’t ride that bull in the future…
Zane Lambert won the Saddle Series which was held in conjunction with the Border Town Showdown in Coutts, AB on June 17th. Brett Gardiner talked to Zane about the win.
