Canadian Finals Rodeo Tie Down Roper Dean Edge, and his high top grey Resistol presided as auctioneer while Todd Braithwaite and Tanner Girletz talked about each of the lots as they came in the ring.
It all got started with the first lot of the day. Half interest in #818 Morning Breath from the Wild Hoggs.
Over the phone, Corey Chmelnyk purchased that lot for $7,300 which ended up being the high dollar lot of the day.
Braithwaite Ranches’ breeding bull Cry Baby went to Lindsay Carlier as the next highest selling lot coming in at $6,000.
As the third highest selling lots, #26 and #31 both came in at $3,300. Lot #26 was a cow (#74) and bull calf (#274) pair from Elli Skori with lineage going back to Quam Breeding and Skori’s #6 Boilynn Hot. It was purchased by Kenny Lambert.
Lot #31 came from Tanner Girletz. Before #773 and her Double Dippin’ Calf went up for sale Tanner noted that he though he was retarded for even wanting to sell this cow since she had done so well for him in giving him three good bull calves in the past. Ty Prescott, Kyle Wallgren and Ty Pozzobon took this lot home with them.
Another notable lot sold was the set of six straws of semen from Braithwaite/Farley/Robinson. Two from each of the following PBR greats: Major Payne, Segs the Juice and the originally Canadian Bull I’m a Gangster. Each straw ended up going for $1,700 and James Morton took the lot of them.
Stay tuned for next year’s sale that will surely be bigger and better yet than ever.
