Calgary Roughstock Rumble to Feature Numerous Canadian Champions

Calgary, AB: On April 12th and 13th, 2013 a variety of Canada’s top rodeo athletes are scheduled to compete at an event not like any other around. $30,000 in prize money is to be paid out each night to the top contestants in a winner take all format against the top stock from near and far.


2012 Canadian Professional Rodeo Association Cowboy of the Year and two time and reining Canadian Bull Riding Champion Scott Schiffner of nearby Strathmore is one of the top athletes to compete. The likes of Four Time Canadian Bareback Riding Champion Dusty LaValley, Canadian All Around Champions Jeremy Harden and Steven Turner (four times) along with his brother, 2003 Canadian Champion Bull Rider Jody Turner are all taking a chance on winning big. That’s not where it ends either with 2010 Canadian Champion Bull Rider Jesse Torkelson; 2006 Canadian Champion Bull Rider Tanner Girletz; 2007 PBR Canadian Champion Tyler Pankewitz; 2009 PBR Canadian Champion Beau Hill; Three Time Canadian Champion Bareback Rider Kyle Bowers and last but not least, 2012 Canadian Champion Saddle Bronc Rider Luke Butterfield.


Then you move on to current PBR Canada number one man Zane Lambert. Or Jake Vold who competes at Rodeo Houston in Super Series Five or Ty Taypotat who has already made his way on to the semi finals. Kaila Mussel, Professional Female Saddle Bronc rider also will try her hand at spurring her way to victory. Two time Calgary Stampede Champion Wyatt Thurston, currently making his way into the full professional ranks may take himself to a win.


Al Parsons is the event announcer with Mike Labelle brining you the event from the dirt as the MC with Riley and McCormick as the official western clothing supplier for the event.


If you wish to find out who takes home that top prize, you’ll want to buy your tickets and get down to the Stampede Corral on the second weekend in April. Tickets are available still for both nights in limited quantities. You may get them at or at startingat $20.00 each.
