Ottawa, ON: The first stop of the 2012 PBR Canadian Cup Series kicked off last night outside of Ottawa, ON at the Scotiabank Place the same place where the 2012 NHL All Star Game will take place in about two weeks.
It was a packed house though with nearly every available seat having a butt in it. Things are looking better than ever for the PBR in Canada this year!
Saturday the 14th didn’t turn out to be too great of a night for us bull riders though in Ottawa. It was pretty rough with not many qualified rides.
Near the start of the program 2010 Canadian Champion Jesse Torkelson got the first score on the board at 76.5 points on the Wayne Chausse bull Doc Holiday. The mid part of the long go saw not many scores turned in.
Devon Mezei turned it up with this nice ride on the Mark Reed Bull Not Ta Nite:
Garrett Green gritted it out not long after that against One Way:
Matt Bohon made a picture perfect ride on Black Magic here:
Then the plot thickened as 6 Time PBR Canadian Finals Zane Lambert nodded his head:
Going into the Short Go things looked like this:
- Zane Lambert 83
- Matt Bohon 81.5
- Devon Mezei 81
- Garrett Green 80
- Jesse Torkelson 76.5
Matt Bohon was the only bull rider to cover his short round bull so he was crowned the 2012 Ottawa PBR Canadian Cup Series Champion.
Average Results
- Matt Bohon
- Zane Lambert,
- Devon Mezei
- Garrett Green
- Jesse Torkelson

Also, congratulations to Merrit, BC’s Ty Pozzobon on keeping up his winning ways on the PBR’s Built Ford Tough Series. This weekend Ty won the Round on Sunday with a huge 88.75 point ride on Bad Moon and finished the weekend in 5th place to take home nearly $9,000. Ty currently sits 4th in the PBR BFTS World Standings!
When asked about what his goals were in the PBR for 2012 Ty told me ” I want to win it all.”
Here he is getting closer to his dream winning the round on Sunday.
