LAKE LOUISE, Alberta—The Second Annual Ski Louise Stampede Canadian Cowboy Ski Race is set for March 29, 2014. Registration will be at 8:30am at the Lake Louise Ski Resort and the race will begin at noon tentatively. Early Entries will be taken starting in January.

The event will once again pit Canada’s top rodeo cowboys and cowgirls against the Canadian Rockies Steepest Slopes. Entrants wearing their cowboy hats, chaps or anything else western will be a able to participate in a variety of events.

“We are very excited to announce the 2nd annual Canadian Cowboy Ski Race. This event will be bigger and better than last year. We are already working hard at creating an event that will be sure to entertain the crowd and challenge the contestants more than ever,” said Canadian Professional Rodeo Association Rodeo Administrator Kynan Vine.

The First Annual Ski Louise Stampede Canadian Cowboy Ski Race held in March of 2013 had over 50 competitors and hosted a large dinner of over 200 people. This year’s events proceeds will once again go towards the Pro Rodeo Sports Medicine Team.

“We were able to raise a lot of money for Sports Medicine last year (nearly $14,000) and appreciate all the support we received. It is our hope that this event can help support the great cause that is Pro Rodeo Sports Medicine. This event is just a way the cowboys and cowgirls can come out and have some fun and show their support for the Sports Medicine Team because we all know how important it is to keep that team getting down the rodeo road,” said Kynan Vine.
