After traveling for an entire month in the Southern United States, I have finally made it home! I had such a great time in Florida and Arizona representing the CPRA, and Canada. It was so great to be able to see some fellow Canadians compete, and enjoy some sunshine too!
After saying goodbye to beautiful Florida, I landed in sunny Arizona. I was able to spend three weeks with the beautiful Jayme Smith, Miss Rodeo Arizona 2012. I attended three different Rodeos: Tuscon’s La Fiesta de los Vaqueros, Scottsdale ‘s Parada del sol, and Queen Creek’s Roots and Boots. We also worked alongside the Arizona Agriculture Bureau with some school presentations. Being able to teach children about agriculture, Rodeo, and Canada was an absolute blast. I met so many amazing people, and made some life long friends. The Rodeo Family I gained in Arizona were so much fun to be around and work with, and I am already missing them dearly.
Since Arizona is home to so many Canadians in the winter time, I felt quite at home too. I was running into everyone I knew, even my next door neighbors! I want to Thank the Miss Rodeo Arizona Committee for being so accommodating to Miss Rodeo Canada these past couple weeks. I am very excited about the new relationship we have built, and looking forward to seeing everyone again.
Already feeling like a seasoned Rodeo Queen, I am even more ready for our Rodeo season to start. I am so excited to get to know and work with everyone that makes the Canadian Professional Rodeo Association so wonderful. I am especially looking forward to being a part of the first ever Ski Louise Stampede! Hope to see you all soon.
