Wacey’s Picks – Yorkton Grain Millers Harvest Showdown PBR
YORKTON, Saskatchewan – It seems like the ladder half of 2019 has flown right by, and here we are two weeks in to November with the final PBR Canada event on tap this weekend in Yorkton.
The Yorkton Grain Millers Harvest Showdown brings us the tenth and final stop on the 3D Bull Riding tour. With the top three riders in the country currently competing at the PBR World Finals in Las Vegas, Nevada the door has been opened for a number of riders to make up some ground on three competitors.
Night number one of action goes down tonight at 7pm at the Gallagher Centre in Yorkton, for more information click here.
Here is a look at some of my favourite matchups tonight:

Todd Chotowetz vs. 441 Herbal Whiskey
It is good to see Todd back on the PBR Canada trail this weekend in Yorkton, the current No. 13 man in the nation will be looking improve on that standing. After a sub par performance the 2019 Canadian Finals Rodeo Todd will want to use this two-day event as a way to get back on track before the PBR Canada National Finals in a few weeks time. He has drawn Herbal Whiskey from Rafter 8 bulls in the first round of action and this is a great match up for Todd. Herbal Whiskey should turn back to the right in to Todd’s hand, which will be to his advantage. Todd rides really well in to his hand and if all goes according to plan we should see him back in the championship round tonight.
Ty Ellis vs. 421 Finning Hou’s Deacon
I am really pumped to see Ty’s name in the draw here in Yorkton, Ty is one of those guys that focuses mainly on the rodeo side of things but will no trouble finding his way at the PBR Canada level. Tonight he will face off with Finning Hou’s Deacon from the Flying Four crew, this little white spinner will definitely put Ty to the test on night number one. This past summer Hou’s Deacon bucked off the 2018 Calgary Stampede champion Marcos Gloriain short fashion. Hou’s Deacon should be right in the gate to the away from Ty’s hand, if Ty has packed his riding pants we could see a big score here.
Zane Lambert vs. 55 Mystic
After and uncharacteristically slow summer it appears as if Zane is heating up at the perfect time of year, after a 5-for-6 performance at the Canadian Finals Rodeo last week it is safe to say Zane is back. On night one of action here in Yorkton Zane will take on Mystic from the R-Saga Ranch just down the road in Manor, Saskatchewan. With only one out recorded on ProBullStats.comI wasn’t able to find much on this bull but I’m sure he will fit Zane real good, and with Zane on a roll like he is I don’t think there is much that can throw him off at this point.
Aaron Roy vs. 536 Jayded
The three-time PBR Canadian Champion has had a pretty solid season thus far and will be hoping to climb up a few spots from his No. 12 place in the current standings. Aaron will start the weekend off by getting on Jayded from the Vold Rodeo team, and this will actually be a rematch from the Edmonton, Alberta event a few weeks ago. Jayded emerged victorious that time around but don’t bet against Aaron here in Yorkton, he is the type of guy to not let a bull get the best of him twice. Look for Aaron to be back for the championship round tonight.
