Triplett leads Ranchman’s PBR after Day 1

CALGARY, Alberta — Matt Triplett (Columbia Falls, Montana) sits in the lead after Day 1 of the Ranchman’s Renegades Charity Bullbustin’.

In Round 1 Triplett rode Grandpa’s Whiskey (Girletz Rodeo Stock) for 81.5 points, in the championship round it was Anika’s Pet (Big Chief Bucking Bulls) for 85 points. The No.8 man in the world standings looks to gain 60 world points on Wednesday night when the first two days of Bullbustin’ conclude at Ranchman’s. After Tuesday, Triplett is the only man to record scores on two bulls.

Second after Tuesday night’s competition is Gustavo Pedrero (Jalisco, Mexico). Pedrero put up 86.5 points on Chip Shot (Outlaw Buckers) to hold on to the lead so far in Round 1 but was bucked off Spin Box (Outlaw Buckers) in the Championship Round.

Koal Livingston (Burleston, Texas), Lachlan Richardson (Gresford, NSW, AUS) and Tyler Harr (Hazen, Arkansas) are tied for third after Tuesday night thanks to matching 85.5 point scores. Livingston took advantage of a re-ride on Chump (Big Chief Bucking Bulls) while Harr rode Red Mile (Outlaw Buckers) and Richardson spurred Southern Heat (Vold Rodeo / Prescott).

Rounding out the top six on Tuesday were Fraser Babbington (Gisborne, New Zealand) and Cody Casper (Pacific, Washington) putting up 81 points each.

Tennessee Whiskey (Outlaw Buckers) put up the top bull score on Tuesday at 43.5 points.

Next up on the 2017 PBR Canada Touring Pro Division schedule the second and final day of the Ranchman’s Renegades Charity Bullbustin’ on July 5th where $30,000 will be paid out. PBR Bullbustin’ in Support of the Sheldon Kennedy Child Advocacy Centre takes place on Thursday July 6th at Ranchman’s Cookhouse and Dancehall Inc. featuring $20,000 in prize money.
