EDMONTON, Alberta (April 27, 2022) – On April 13th Ben Anderson posted to his Instagram page “A good man once told me “squeeze your rig and push on your heels”  ..Seemed easy enough” with a photo of him on a bareback horse. Fast forward two and a half weeks and we see Ben’s name not only entered in the saddle bronc riding at the Drayton Valley Pro Rodeo, but the bareback riding as well.

Ben is currently 34th in the world standings with $15,692.10 won. Some of these earnings come from Houston, San Antonio, and most recently in Red Bluff. We know it won’t be long before we start seeing Ben climb his way in the PRCA and CPRA standings, but could we expect to see his name on the leaderboard in the bareback riding as well?

This Sunday, May 1st, Ben will put his hand in a bareback riggin and make a ride on one of John Duffy’s horses, 420 Bay Moon. It is incredible to see someone with NFR caliber make a breakout like this. If he spurs one down anything like he does in the bronc riding, we know it will be bad ass.

Drayton Valley Pro Rodeo is the third pro rodeo of the 2022 season along with Crowsnest Pass. A tough list of competitors will be out this coming weekend, along with NFR qualifiers Dawson Hay, Zeke Thurston, and Layton Green.
