Ty Pozzobon made his debut on the Built Ford Tough Series this past weekend in Glendale, Arizona at the Jobing.com Arena. He joined Aaron Roy as the second Canadian on the Built Ford Tough Series that weekend.
Pozzy didn’t make the whistle in either of his attempts in Glendale but has drawn good tonight in Fresno, California. The bull he’s got is called Kick Butt and has a bit of history in California. He’s been ridden about 4 of 11 times for an average score of 85.88 points. I’m going to bet he gets his first qualified ride on the Built Ford Tough Series tonight.
Some other Canadians on the bubble of making the PBR’s Top 40 elite tour include some other first time CFR Qualifiers from 2010. The 40th place right now is occupied bySean Willingham with just under $15,000. The cut is also after this weekends event in Fresno where the bottom 5 riders are cut and the top 5 from the qualifier standings are brought on tour for 5 events. Here are the Canadians within range.
- 58. Tyler Pankewitz – $10,206
- 59. Ty Patten – $10,129
- 60. Beau Brooks – $10,003
- 62. Jason Finkbeiner – $9,551
- 66. Jesse Torkelson – $8,433
- 68. Dusty Ephrom – $7,197
- 69. Brian Hervey – $7,174
With more Canadian Cup Series Events coming in the weeks ahead, any of these guys could make their way up. Especially since there are two Canadian Cup Series Events coming up in Abbotsford, BC next weekend (March 25-26) and London, ON (April 2). My prediction is to see some more of these riders joining Aaron and Ty on tour within the next few weeks.
