Westlock, AB: The 2012 Alexander Days Rodeo in Westlock wrapped up this afternoon. It was the first Alexander Days sanctioned by the Lakeland Rodeo Association, and put on by the Alexander First Nation. With $1500.00 Added per event, the contestants were eager to put a little in their pockets and continue the quest for the finals come September.
The man who probably enjoyed it the most was the bullriding champion Ty Parkinson. Parkinson, who was one of only two riders to made a qualified ride, was 80 pts on Sunday on the Jim Thompson bull “Northern Lights”. The ride will net Parkinson a good chunk of change, and will go nicely with the pay cheque he picked up at another Thompson event Friday evening.
Ty was the long go champion with a 85.5 at the EPB in New Sarepta on another Thompson bull “Living After Midnight”. All in all the Aussie made alot of Canadian cash this weekend on the back of the Thompson bulls, and was the champion in Westlock. It was a great rodeo weekend and here are the unofficial results:
