I hadn’t shared this yet and wanted to since the benefit auction had finished up last week and been a huge success! Meghann Tanner wrote this piece and was a huge part of making the auction happen and go as well as it did. If you have the chance please thank her for her efforts!
For those of you who hadn’t heard the results of the auction, here is what Meghann wrote last week after the auction was complete:
—
On behalf of all of us at Canadian Cowboy Country magazine, I would like to thank all of you for your support of the Cooper Children Trust Fund Auction. Watching this project grow as quickly as it did was truly amazing. In just 10 days, we had over 4,200 people join the group and nearly 300 donations. Together, we have raised over $123,000 for the children of Cam and Wade Cooper.
The cowboy community has allowed us the privilege to share their stories with our readers and television viewers for the past 15 years. When we witnessed the outpouring of support from this Facebook auction, it both humbled us and reinforced our belief that there is no stronger or caring community than the rodeo community, and those who live and love the western lifestyle.
On a personal note, I would like to recognize Lindsey and Dee who mentored me through my first Facebook auction. What a ride!
Thank you to everyone who shared stories and memories of Cam and Wade—it was incredible to hear how two people influenced so many. And thank you to everyone who donated, bid, and helped us spread the word. The cowboy world is one-of-a-kind and I don’t think you will ever find a group who supports and takes care of one another as we do.
Your kindness and generosity will always be remembered.

It shows exactly what the cowboy world is made of. I am glad to be a part of it.
On another note, Rodeo Houston started up last night.
Merrit, BC’s Ty Pozzobon wins the first night of the first series in the bull riding with an 88 on Do or Die’s D little! He picked up $2500 for the win and should make it back to the semi finals already on that ride.
This video isn’t real great but it still gets the job done on showing the ride. Congrats Ty keep it going!
Tyrel Larsen of Inglis, MB also picked up a check last night with an 82 point score which set him in third place for $800.
Check out the link below to watch the live streamed footage of Rodeo Houston. It starts at 6:45pm Central Time tonight!
