The PBR Built Ford Tough Series is known around the world as the most prestigious bull riding tour today. With around $30,000 in prize money going to each winner over the course of each of the 28 events in the season, you can understand why the riders want to be there. Oh ya, the million dollar bonus to the PBR’s year end champion is a good reason too.

This weekend the PBR Built Ford Tough Series is making a stop in Oklahoma City, OK. 3 Canadians have made the cut this weekend and are in OKC. Last night was the first round. Jason Finkbeiner of Wardlow, AB made his BFTS debut last night but was unable to get a score on a Frank Newsom owned bull. Aaron Gibb of Hill Spring, AB also made his debut among the World’s Top bull riders last night in OKC but also failed to make the 8 second mark. 2 time PBR Canadian Champion and 3 time World Finals Qualifier Aaron Roy of Yellow Grass, SK did make the whistle for a score of 85 points. He finished out of the round money.

Tonight is the second round of the Winstar World Casino Invitational and it looks like all three Canadians have drawn well. I, along with a lot of others I know back home are pulling for them. The event will wrap up this Sunday afternoon after the Short Go.

The PBR Canadian Cup Series makes it’s way out to Ottawa, ON tonight for what is already the 3rd stop of the season. After seeing the draw I bet on seeing the top money coming out west and to see more Canadian names on the BFTS after the next cut.

I was curious to know who else might be close making the cut and here are where some of the other Canadians are in the 2011 Qualifier Standings:

22. Aaron Roy $16,480.23
35. Jason Finkbeiner $8,746.46
37. Beau Brooks $8,465.78
45. Ty Patten $7,524.53
48. Brian Hervy $7,174.92
52. Tyler Pankewitz $6,734.29
53. Jesse Torkelson $6,639.30
69. Dusty Ephrom $4,679.30
74. Tanner Girletz $4,425.00
77. Zane Lambert $3,983.58
85. Ty Pozzobon $3,540.96
89. Aaron Gibb $3,332.00

With the money up for grabs in the PBR Canadian schedule in the coming months I bet we will see more of these guys on tour soon.

Who are hoping to see on tour soon? I know you all know some of these guys so what do you figure?

I look forward to hearing from you all.
