Houston, TX: The first of five Super Series pools wrapped up this evening at Rodeo Houston. The Top Four money earners from each Series make their way to a set of two different Semi-Final rounds. Two Canadians had success in moving on to the semi final rounds.
The two contestants I’m talking about are St. Paul, Alberta’s Rylee McKenzie and Merritt BC’s Ty Pozzobon.
Rylee finished second the round tonight with a 14.39 second run. She finished in third place in her pool with a total of $2,500 won up to this point. That sets her up to compete in the first semi final in bit more than two weeks. Check back here tomorrow for a few words from Rylee!
Ty Pozzobon has had his best year yet riding bulls professionally, he’s done well nearly everywhere he’s been. Tonight was no different. He rode the Do or Die bull by the name of Iron Horse for a huge 91 point score. Not bad for 20 years old! He finished first in his pool, picking up a check already totalling $7,500. A pool that was filled with some of the best bull riders in the PRCA, NFR Qualifiers, and a World Champion. He is set to compete in semi final number two.
Not bad for only getting the call to even ride there in Houston a couple weeks ago!
This weekend Ty travels up to Lethbridge, AB tomorrow then right back to Texas Saturday for another event. Check back tomorrow and Saturday for results from Lethbridge as well as a few words from Ty probably.
Wherever you are this weekend, you should make your way to Lethbridge. It’s going to be one of the best bull riding events of the year in Alberta.
Back to Houston: Logan Hofer of Mcgrath, AB also got the news that he will be going to compete at Rodeo Houston. Dwayne Erickson wrote an article about it this morning. It’s another great one as usual!
