Buckin’ in the Backyard

New Sarepta, AB: A perfect Saturday afternoon just Southwest of Edmonton was where the Elite Professional Bull Riders tour stopped on September 10th. This event has been sanctioned by the WPB as well and has run at least 5 years now in September. It’s one that the bull riders like to go to.

It’s one that Rodeo Announcer Dustin Edwards likes as well. He called the action this past Saturday and you better make your way up to Barrhead, AB for the Wild Rose Rodeo Association Finals starting on Thursday night at 7:00pm to catch him and Dave Poulsen call the action there.

Jim Thompson brought the help of the Wild Hoggs Bucking Bulls for the event this year and the bulls were very good. Round one turned out like this:

Cody Moore 84.5
Ashton Arychuk 83.5
Keith Dougan 76
Brian Hervey 76
Ted Stovin 74.5

Keith Dougan 76 points on Fist Full of Fifty’s

Brian Hervey 76 points in round one

In the second round Cody Moore rode his bull early on to be the only man to ride both of his bulls. Everyone else bucked off their second bull. Ashton Arychuck was the last rider with the chance to take home the win.

All in all though it was a great afternoon of bull riding action and we all must thank everyone involved with the event including Janet and Jim for having us all at their place for the bull riding. We look forward to next years event!
