Braithwaite’s Win McBride Futurity

Madden, AB: Many of Canada’s best bull breeders were part of today’s McBride Cattle Co. Futurity today. Some of the bulls we watched here today will likely go on to be Canad’as next great bucking bulls and possibly go even further than that to the likes of the PBR World Finals & NFR.

A total of seven contractors were present for the futurity today including The Carlier’s, Mounkes, Wild Hoggs, Prescott, Vold, Braithwaite’s and of course the host’s the McBride’s.

It was a team format that today’s top money was paid out on. So the contractor’s bulls competed along side each other with the top two scores from a single contractor taking home the biggest check. Here are the top three bulls from today’s futurity.

Braithwaite Bull 4 (3rd highest marked bull)

This Braithwaite Bull was part of the winning team and is out of Never Never Land’s Mom X Rock Star. I apologize in advance if I’m wording these wrong.

Vold Bull 4 (2nd High marked bull)

This Vold/Robinson & Triangle X bull is a half brother to 7 Seconds.

Braithwaite Bull 2 (High marked bull)

This Braithwaite Bull was part of the second place team and is out of Boogeyman’s Mom X Rock Star. Co owned with Kenny Lambert as of the 2011 CBBI Sale in Ponoka, AB according to Cawl Braithwaite.

It was a great event and we will surely see more of them this year and in years to come! Thank you to the McBride family for being great hosts on a great Sunday afternoon.

On another note, Dustin Flundra won the round today at Rodeo Houston with an 86 in the Saddle Bronc & Lindsay Sears won the Barrel Racing with a 14.27!

The super series will wrap up here on Tuesday and we will move into the Semi Finals on Wednesday and Thursday. The Wild Card Round is Friday and this year’s $50,000 Rodeo Houston Champions will be crowned Saturday. Sunday will be the Cinch Super Shootout.
