BROOKS, Alberta — As we prepare for the first performance of the second annual Dallas Sunstrum Memorial Pro Rodeo this evening, only three days remain in the 2015 PRCA Regular Season.
Three final days and a few rodeos remain for those looking to clinch their births to the 2015 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo.
Deb Guelly is making the biggest splash so far this weekend and needs to win big to get to Vegas. As of this afternoon, Guelly sits $3,780.70 back from 15th but she leads Amarillo, TX by 2/10th’s of a second and is second so far in Kansas City, MO.
Depending on how her competitors fare, these two checks could make the difference as Amarillo is a $113,000 rodeo and Kansas City pays out over $82,000.
Omaha, NE pays over $200,000 in these first two days of competition. There, Clint Laye and Orin Larsen, sit tied for third in the first round of the bareback with matching scores of 83. Orin’s brother, Tyrel Larsen, is splitting fourth so far in the saddle bronc, needing to win $574 more than Chad Ferley and a few others this weekend to book his first trip to the Thomas & Mack.
Clay Elliott is a bit further back than Tyrel but he’s catching a check so far in Amarillo. 2014 Resistol Rookie of the Year, Kody Lamb is catching a check in New Braunfels, TX so far while fellow bareback rider Linden Woods is fourth so far in Amarillo.
