Larsen Wins Champions Challenge and Heads for the American

SCOTTSDALE, AZ– Riding Salt River Rodeo Company’s Smoke River, Tyrel Larsen was able to come out on top of the Wrangler Champions Challenge held on February 27th in Scottsdale. The Inglis, Manitoba native scored an 85.5, giving him a .5 lead against two-time World Champion Saddle Bronc rider Taos Muncy.

Larsen will be $5,000 richer heading into the largest one day rodeo The American on March 2 in Arlington, Texas.

After finishing 16th in the PRCA’s world standings in 2013, Larsen is looking for his first NFR qualification this season. This Champions Challenge win moves Larsen to 10th in the world as of today’s standings.
