What’s That Bull with Ted Stovin for the Smithbilt Hats Ty Pozzobon Invitational

Merritt, BC: We are only days away from the first ever Smithbilt Hats Ty Pozzobon Invitational. if you’re anywhere near Merritt, BCyou’ll want to get your tickets purchased quick if you already haven’t for Saturday’s PBR Canada Bull Riding event.

Tickets are $20.00 each in advance or $25.00 at the gate. In advance they can be found at Lammles and the Horse Barn in Kamloops, Purity Feed in Merritt as well as by contacting Leanne Pozzobon. Over 1,000 have been sold out and they are running out quickly.

Bull Riding gets started at 6:00pm at the Merritt Rodeo Grounds with some of the top bull riders from Canada and the United States competing for $10,000 in prize money.

Until then, here are my thoughts on a few of the evening’s match-ups.

Justin Lloyd vs. KA 867 Annette’s Pet – Dusty Ephrom rode this bull for an 88 in Fort St. John over a month ago now. The only other video I have on this bull was when he threw off Tanner Girletz in Airdrie last August. I think Justin should get along well with Annette’s Pet and get a good score.

Ty Pozzobon vs. HOGS 818 Morning Breath – Ty couldn’t have picked much better of a bull here for the long go of his own event. Maybe he did, who knows. Morning Breath is a great bull that Ty’s travelling partner Tanner Byrne rode just a couple weeks ago now in Nipawin for an 86. My money is on the hometown cowboy here with an 86 or 87 and a pretty flashy looking ride.

Ty Elliot vs. HOGS 90 Trendon – Trendon was formerly known as Chances Are at the last event we saw him at. He’s been a great bull all spring and should be one Ty gets along with well in Merritt. I’m guessing a mid 80’s or so score here. Stetson Lawrence was 89 on Chances are back in Prince Albert.

Beau Hill vs. CC 833 Kyle Style– Beau should be happy about this draw. Last I remember seeing Kyle Style, Skyler McBride could have ate a sandwich with extra mustard on it according to Jody Turner who watched the ride from home. I expect the same from Beau and around an 84 point score to get Beau back to the Championship Round in good shape. The only video I have of Kyle Style is from Abbotsford, BC last spring when Brendon Clark rode him.
