What’s That Bull for the Manor Fun Daze PBR – July 20th

Manor, SK: When speaking of the Manor Fun Daze, they have now been having the event for 34 years. 2013 Marks the Seventh Year with a PBR Canada sanctioned event. Things keep getting better and better too.

This year, according to the PBR Canada website, the event has $8,000 in added prize money. What that doesn’t include is the $2,000 bounty bull bonus that’ll be paid out in the Short Go. Said bull will be drawn at the conclusion of the long go.

Another $1,000 goes to the top short go score. It could be quite a profitable night for a few bull riders come Saturday starting at 5:30pm.

If you’re in the arena sooner, a Pancake Breakfast kicks off the day at 7:00AM. Event organizer Andy Robertson mentioned that the proceeds from it will be going to the Aaron Roy Benefit Fund after his recent mishap at the Calgary Stampede.

Aaron won last year’s PBR in Manor. 

Later on in the day a roast beef supper kicks off at 4:00PM not long before the bull riding.

These are some of those match-ups you’ll see Saturday in South East Saskatchewan.

Jordan Hansen vs. Mambo #5 – This is a re-match from Kalispell back in February. Jordan’s travelling partner Ty Elliot rode this bull in Lethbridge and Jared Farley rode him there too. Both were around 84 points. My money is on the young Hansen staying on this time. Either that or he will have to take up barrel racing.

Josh Birks vs. Hands Free – Scott Schiffner rode this bull for an 83.5 last year in Manor. Josh should do the same. The way Hands Free bucks, I think a guy probably needs a hand in the rope to ride this one. It’s going to be good watching.

Ty Elliot vs. Coffee Black – This little Flying Four bull kicked hard and spun right in Nipawin back in May. They won the long go on him there. Ty can ride them either way but I think he will get along well with this one for the round win on Saturday.

Jesse Torkelson vs. Pirate Style – Tork has been doing some winning lately and will be close to Ty Elliot for the long go win if he doesn’t beat him. This bull is a home run for Jesse. It’s that time of year we might see some more hat flogging going on again soon.

Josh Birks made a good ride on Prescott’s Pirate Style in Merritt.

Corey Waterson vs. True Grit – As long as Corey doesn’t ride like he did in Calgary at Ranchman’s the other day in the short go, he’s got this one made. True Grit has been a solid bull lately and Cody Coverchuk split the long go win on him in Kinsella a week ago today. Look for an 85 out of this match-up.
