Marwayne, AB: Creating any event for the first time is challenging. It’s been said that the second time organizing the same event can be even tougher.
For the organizers of the Second Annual Marwayne PBR presented by Baker Hughes, this year’s hard work is paying off. All the arena renovations are now done and things are looking to be bigger and better. One example being the bleachers which are now to bigger and should seat 200 more people than they did last year.
“We’ve made a pretty big step in year two so we’re pretty happy with it.” Stock Contractor, Promoter, former Bull Rider and Marwayne resident Justin Volz told. “I think it’s going to be a good event.”
A good event may be an understatement when there is $10,000 in added prize money and not only a custom made Tyrel Jensen buckle to the champion bull rider and the champion bull too. The beef supper was more then good last year and is sure to be again. That gets started at 5:00pm right in the hockey arena on Friday April 26th, 2013.
PBR Canada Bull Riding starts at 7:00pm with bulls from the top contractors around from the likes of Braithwaite Ranches, Xtreme Bucking Bulls, Girletz Rodeo, Skori Bucking Bulls and event hosts, Wild Hoggs Bucking Bulls. Brett Gardiner is back once again to announce with sound this year coming from Rodeo Sound, Dean Phillips. Shawn Metchewais brings his video scoreboard to the event known Reita Vision that adds a replay to the fan experience.
“We’re trying to make it a little better for the cowboys.” Volz added on the event planning, concluding. “It’s been a little easier this year. We would like to thank all our sponsor for the support it is greatly appreciated. You make the event possible.”
In addition, Volz isn’t the only one doing the planning. He, along with Denton Edge and the Marwayne Arena Board have worked together to make the event a reality.
