SIGA and 3D Bullriding Announce 2013 Truck Tour

Saskatoon, SK: It’s official, the Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority (SIGA) 3D Bullriding Tour is giving away a truck once again in 2013.

“We are very excited to have come to an agreement with Jason Davidson and 3D Bullriding Inc. We know the quality of events he brings to the table and look forward to a second year partnering with him.” Explained Gary Daniels, General Manager of the Dakota Dunes Casino.

Davidson added to how important this truck is to his company and the SIGA 3D Tour.”As always, I strive to set the bar in PBR Event Production in Canada. Giving one contestant the opportunity to win a truck following our tour is very exciting for 3D Bullriding and all the committees and contestants involved.”

When asked about how well the truck was received last year Jason said “I thought it went extremely well, some of the events where I know we would have had trouble with entries were actually up last year. More so, the most exciting part in my opinion was that seven of the ten short go qualifiers at our finale in Lloydminster, SK had a shot at the tuck. It made for an exciting finish.”

Exciting it was. Coming down to that last ride on the entire season to decide the winner, as the bull rider finishing the best at that event would win the truck.

In 2012 on that final ride in Lloydminster, Aaron Roy came out on op of the SIGA 3D Bullriding Tour. For a bull rider, he did quite well at last year’s seven tour events, winning over $25,000 and driving home that new Ford Truck. Kyle Lozier won more money if you count in that monumental $20,000 bonus from the Wanham PBR Extravaganza. Lozier finished the tour with $27,000 in winnings in 2012. Ty Pozzobon, currently 11th in the PBR’s Built Ford Tough Series (BFTS), was third at $12,000 and Devon Mezei was fourth with nearly $10,000 won.

Devon Mezei told of what he thought the truck incentive did for the SIGA 3D Bullriding Tour in 2012. “The truck made me go. I think that kind of incentive really motivates a guy to go. I want to make sure to get to those evets to make sure I can win that truck. I think it sure makes it worth going to those events.”

Speaking of going to the events, in 2013, a bull rider must compete in all ten SIGA 3D Bullriding Tour events to ensure their chance to win the truck. The only exceptions to this rule being a doctor’s release, a BFTS Event, or a PBR Touring Pro event with a higher amount of added money.

At those ten events, there is $123,000 in added prize money to be paid out. When adding in the expected entry fees, that total raises up to $165,000 before the PBR’s sanctioning fees are taken off. That doesn’t include this truck for 2013 or the major bonus ride in Wanham.

“I think having this truck is a tremendous opportunity to win a big prize at the end of the year. These guys are forced to make better business decisions as to where they are competing on a weekly basis.” Davidson finished.

There is a tremendous opportunity for the events included as well, for example, the Brad Phipps Memorial PBR which is celebrating it’s Tenth Annual bull riding in 2013. Committee member Trevor Beaton explained “Being on the SIGA tour helped us draw a great lineup of bull riders. The screen really added another great element to our event too. We had a lot of fans give us positive comments about it. They wanted that back. SIGA was a very important partner for us last year. We already look forward to 2013.”

Incentives like this help move the sport of bull riding forward in Canada. Not only is it a benefit to the riders, but everyone involved.

Aaron Roy winning the SIGA 3D Bullriding Tour Finale on September 29th, 2012 in Lloydminster, SK with a 90.5 point ride on the Vold Bull VJV Slash.
