PBR Heads to Lashburn August 8, 2014

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PBR Heads to Lashburn August 8, 2014

LASHBURN, Saskatchewan (July 29, 2013) – The Professional Bull Riders (PBR) Canada Touring Pro will be at the Lashburn Sports Grounds for the 11th annual Brad Phipps Memorial PBR Canada Touring Pro on Friday, August 8 at 7:00 p.m.  Lashburn will host one action-packed night full of big rides and rank wrecks with riders competing for over $10,000 in prize money.

The PBR Canada Touring Pro (CTP) is the developmental tour of PBR Canada, where established veterans and newcomers to the professional ranks compete against some of the most famous bucking bulls.  The CTP gives riders the opportunity to compete in PBR Canada-sanctioned events while earning money to qualify for the Canadian Cup Series and prestigious Canadian National Finals.  Expected to compete are riders from around the globe. Australia will be well represented with PBR World Finals Qualifiers Budd Williamson, Lachlan Richardson and fan favorite Josh Birks. USA sends PBR World Finals Qualifiers Nathan Schaper and Stetson Lawrence while our Canadian contingency includes PBR Canada Champions Zane Lambert (2013), Tyler Pankewitz (2007) and Scott Schiffner (2006). But don’t count out the hottest Bull Rider on the PBR Built Ford Tough Tour right now, Saskatchewan’s own Tanner Byrne.

The highlight from the bull pen will be Bringing Sexy Back – (Two Bit Bucking Bulls) is a past PBR World Finals selection. To date in 2014 he has only been rode once in the PBR and that was at the 3D Bull Riding event in Lethbridge where 2007 PBR Canada‎ Champion Tyler Pankewitz was 90 pts.‎ Feeling Blue (Vold Rodeo Co) is a four year-old bull that has been featured in the final four round of the Ponoka Stampede and was the bull that bucked 2013 PBR Canada Champion Zane‎ Lambert off in the final round of the Calgary Stampede three weeks ago.

With the competition starting at 7:00 p.m. the evening will feature a Championship Round where only one rider will claim the event title.  This is not a rodeo; it’s the Toughest Sport on EarthTM.  Get your tickets now at Synergy Credit Union and Beaton Agencies in Lashburn, SK or at Shep’s Sports and Northern Factory Workwear in Lloydminster, SK starting at $25.  For more information visit www.pbrcanada.com or contact Trevor Beaton at (780) 872-9999 or trevor.beaton@synergycu.ca.
