In the Bull Pen with Nansen Vold – Ponoka, AB

Ponoka, AB: The 10th Annual Jace Harty Memorial Bull Riding is set to go this Wednesday Night at the Ponoka Stampede Grounds. This will be the second year the event has been held there in Memory of Jace. 

It’s an event that every single bull rider wants to be at every year. I’m glad I’ll get to be a part of telling you all the story of what happens at this year’s event. I think I’ve been to every one now since I was a Junior Bull Rider back in 2006 and got on the Vold Bull Quagmire when he was just starting out.

Nansen Vold and Duane Robinson raised Quagmire and he was a great bull throughout his career. Nansen was able to tell us about a few math-ups today as well.

With this event Being our 10th year I went with some of the home town picks.

Zane Lambert on ART855 Drifter –  This little down horn red brindle has been solid this year. He bucked off Tyler Pankewitz in Grande Prairie a couple of weeks ago. Zane has been riding real good thus far, and I expect him to cover this one no problem.

Tyler Pankewitz on ART816 Little Hustle Bug –  This is a bull I’m not real famliar with. He got his rider on the ground in Grande Prairie. He’s supposed  to be a solid 82 pointer and with that Pank should get this one covered. I expect to see  him back for the Short Round.

Wacey  Finkbeiner on ORBC851 Brahma Boots – This is a little black and white bull that comes from Outlaw Buckers. They were 84 points on him at Grande Prairie. Wacey is just coming off a 90 point ride two weeks ago, but has had a little trouble as of late. I think he is going to turn it around here.

Garrett Green on WV634 Burnt Rubber – This could be the round win right here. Burnt Rubber has been well rested as of late, so he will be good and fresh for this event. They have been 88 points on this bull before. I expect big things out of this match up with Garrett just coming off a big win in Innifail.

Kyle Lozier on WV736 Sling Blade – How could I not go with Kyle. He is the number one man in Canadian PBR and CPRA standings. He just rode VJV Slash last weekend in Wanham for $20,000, so I expect the streak to continue. He’s got a bull from us that came up from the U.S. that is looking real good. He bucked off Beau Brooks in Stavely this spring, but with the way Kyle is riding, we won’t see that here.
