Hansen Leads Lethbridge after Night One at Enmax Centre

LETHBRIDGE, Alberta —  With a total of 165.5 points on two bulls, Jordan Hansen of Okotoks, Alberta is in the lead of the Bridge City Chrysler/LA Towing PBR Challenge after night number one from the Enmax Centre.

Hansen’s began his evening with a 79.5 on Mambo #5 from the Two Bit Nation to earn the last spot in the Championship Round. In the short go it started out with a re-ride on a bull that gave up a bit at the end. Luckily for Hansen the re-ride bull was 2 Dark 2 C from the Wild Hoggs. The two matched up for an 86 and what was the only ride in that round.

With another 30 bull riders up this evening, the score to beat is 165.5 on two bulls. If no one gets past that, Hansen will be the first event winner on the 2015 3D Bull Riding Tour.

Second overall thus far is held by Cody Coverchuk after his 84 point effort on Backwards from Outlawbuckers. Edgar Durazo holds down third while Beau Hill, Tyler Thomson and Dakota Buttar are in tied for fourth.

Aaron Roy was bucked off early by a bull called Seven Dust from Big Stone Rodeo while the top Canadian on the PBR’s Built Ford Tough Series, Tanner Byrne, rode one bull for an 80.5 to finish in a tie for ninth on the evening.

Minion Stuart from Ellie Skori was the top bull on Friday in his 44 point out with Shay Marks.
