Calgary, AB: A $9,500 pay check between the two night’s of the 14th Annual Ranchman’s Renegades PBR Bull Bustin’ wasn’t what people were worried about at the end of tonight’s bull riding. What they were wondering about was the status of bull rider Tyler Pankewitz who lay in the arena at the attention of medical assistance as he was knocked unconscious at the end of his bout with the Outlawbuckers’ Bull, Push Pause.
About when Pank came to, his score of 91 points was announced. That helped him clear up his head a bit once he knew he had won the event by overtaking North Dakota’s Nathan Schaper by five points on the overall lead on two bulls.
In the long go Tyler rode the new Kelly Armstrong Bull called Pitch Dark for an 87.5. This score would tie him with Jesse Torkelson who had a similar score on night one for the shared long go win.
This is what he had to say after the event once he was assessed by the Canadian Pro Rodeo Sports Medicine Team.
Brian Hervey was 88 points on Armstrong’s Hands Up. As this event was basically one bull riding over two days and Brian was brought back on time in the first round, he would end up getting a check for sixth in the average for $788.48.
The other top score of the day came from Saskatchewan Bull Rider Justin Lloyd with his 85 on Armstrong’s Murray Christmas. Unfortunately it wouldn’t get him a check as 85.5 was the last spot in the long go payout.
From night one, Nathan Schaper and Zane Lambert would move to second and third in the average as Pankewitz’s total on two bulls was higher.
