LONDON, Ontario – After a three-week run in western Canada, the Canadian Cup Series took a few weeks off. In the interim, PBR Canada and 3D Bull Riding hosted a Canadian Touring Pro event in Lethbridge, Alberta. Devon Mezei took home $7,500, which earned him a spot to ride for a quarter of a million dollars at the Last Cowboy Standing the next weekend in Detroit.
The Canadian Cup Series returns to eastern Canada this weekend for a one-night event at the John Labatt Centre in London. The event will take place on Saturday, March 24, at 7:30 p.m.
Tyler Pankewitz vs. Cherry Bomb
Currently third in the Canadian Standings, Tyler Pankewitz is on a hot streak after winning the Canadian Cup Series event in Abbotsford, British Columbia, just a few weeks ago. Pankewitz is only 175 points behind current leader Zane Lambert. Cherry Bomb (Chausse Bucking Bulls) is a really wild bull out of the chute. If the pair make the 8-second whistle, we stand to see a good score that could earn Pankewitz a ride in the short round.
Zane Lambert vs. Reload
Zane Lambert is currently No. 1 in the Canadian standings. He holds the lead by only 155 points, which could be picked up in just one event. Lambert needs to make 8 seconds on Reload. This bull from Chausse Bucking Bulls has only been ridden once, but Lambert needs to stay on in order to maintain his lead.
Jared Farley vs. Butterfly Effect
Jared Farley sits just inside the Top 25 on the Canadian standings. In this week’s draw, Farley, who has been on and off of the Built Ford Tough Series, is matched up with another one of the Chausse Bucking Bulls. This young bull will likely go to the right and can post a score in the mid-eighties, which would help Farley move up in the standings.
