Perfect in Canada: Outlaw Now 4 for 4

PONOKA, Alberta — Chase Outlaw has only been to four bull ridings in Canada so far, but he’s won them all.

His first win came in Merritt, British Columbia last May at the first Ty Pozzobon Invitational. There he rode 3 of 4 bulls on two entries with the only bull keeping him from winning first and second place being Team Paige from Franklin Rodeo. A couple weeks later Outlaw went on  to win over $13,000 on his 21st birthday at the richest bull riding in Canada and PBR Canada Event of the Year, the 11th Annual Jace Harty Memorial PBR presented by the Ponoka Stampede.

In 2014, Outlaw rode Team Paige to win Pozzobon’s Invitational last month in Merritt. This month he’s done it again with a win last night at the 12th Annual Jace Harty Memorial PBR presented by the Ponoka Stampede.

Arkansas’ Outlaw hasn’t been to any other PBR events or any other events in Canada ever besides these four. In that time span he’s been 90 points or better five different times and won around $35,000, four buckles and two very special bronzes in memory of Jacey Harty.

Last night in front of a strong crowd, Outlaw did it again. Up later on in the long go he took the lead which would hold up on a bull from the Two Bit Nation called French Connection.

In the short go Chase had the first pick and took the muley, 2013 Canadian Pro Rodeo Bull of the Year from the Outlawbuckers’ Red Stag. The two matched each other shot for shot and the turn-out was spectacular. Not bad for his 22nd birthday and another $13,600 in earnings.

A familiar face was second place to Outlaw, Ty Pozzobon scored 88 on Axis of Evil in the Short Go to finish second overall with 171.5 on two bulls and over $8,000 in earnings.

American’s Zac Peterson and Jason Malone were not successful in the short round however their 85.5’s from the long go, on Two Bit Bucking Bulls’ Moe Town and Devil’s Wing respectively, earned them a tie for third and fourth in the aggregate worth over four grand each. Tanner Byrne rounded out the top five with his 84.5 on  Skori’s Body Twist.

The Two Bit Nation had a big night also taking home top bull of the night honors after Bringing Sexy Back threw down Jesse Torkelson putting up a score of 45.5 in the process.

Last night’s event was streamed live on the Ponoka Stampede website. Thanks to those of you who tuned in! Within 24 to 48 hours the full replay will be available to view via this link: http://ponokastampede.com/live-stream/
