Las Vegas, NV: What a night tonight here at the NFR. I’ve got to say I was quite overwhelmed as I first got here and made my way to the media room. It’s not exactly what I expected since we are in the UNLV Basketball Practice court in the Cox Pavillion and watch the Rodeo From TV’s but it’s so worth it for the footage I was able to get with all of the great people here. I hope you all enjoy it.
What a night of rodeo though. Bobby Mote won the bareback riding tonight with a huge ride on Classic Pro Rodeo’s great horse Wise Guy for 87 points.
The steer wrestling keeps getting more interesting and the team roping got really good tonight. It was extremely fast with 5 times in the 3 second range.
In the bronc riding Tyler Corrington of Hastings, Minnesota won his first round even after overcoming a hand injury which made him have to put one of his fingers through his rein. His whole family is here along with a whole bunch of other great rodeo fans from Minnesota.
The barrel racing is very interesting after tonight’s round with Lindsay Sears following Sheri Cervi in the average by just 25/100ths of a second. Brittany Pozzi leads the World Standings with $171,000 Lindsay Sears is in second at $149,000 and Sheri Cervi is just under $1,000 behind her. The final 4 nights will prove to be very interesting.
In the bull riding it was Chandler Bownds winning his second round. He’s stayed on two bulls and won the round both times. Tonight during the intermission he was also presented the buckle as the 2011 Resistol Rookie of the Year.
Shane Proctor placed tonight adding $9,000 to his bank account and JW Harris was bucked off. Jacob O’Mara is leading the average with Tyler Willis as the only other man to qualify on 4 bulls so far.
Here are today’s round winners along with most of the interviews with them as well.
