Big Money Bucking Horses and Bulls at Binion Sale

LAS VEGAS — According to sale coordinator Nate Morrison’s Facebook page, yesterday’s Benny Binion’s World Famous 2014 Bucking Horse & Bull Sale broke over a million dollars.

Of those lots, this is what I’ve gathered so far from Ash Cooper and posts from Nate’s Facebook page.

Kesler’s #321 Poker Star, a 10yr old mare that will be bucking tonight at the WNFR in the saddle broncs with Jesse Wright just sold for $33,000.00. – Nate

Lot #27, Senora, a 5yr old futurity mare from Kling Rodeo just sold for $85,000.00. – Nate

Lot #49, Curly Bill, a 5yr old futurity bronc from Stace Smith just sold for $70,000.00. – Nate

Lot #79 a 3yr old bull from Boyd and Floyd just sold for $39,000.00. – Nate

Lot #75 a 3yr old full brother to Black Pearl just sold for $20,000.00 to Frontier Rodeo. Lot #84 a 4yr Old bull from Boyd & Floyd just sold to Chad Berger for $50,000.00. – Nate

From Ash, Yonkers was the top selling horse not in the futurity going to Doug Vold for $5,000. Futurity bronc Mojo Bone was sold for $30,000 to Vern McDonald. The General will be coming back to Canada with the Cooper Clan after bidding stopped at $39,000.

Before the sale, Thursday kicked off with a PRCA Permit holder of the Year Challenge which featured stock that was in the sale. Susan Kanode sent us the recap from there back on Thursday afternoon.  Zeke Thurston cashed a check which likely counts towards 2015 if he has his full card now.

Friday was the World Futurity Bronc Finale where four and five year old horses competed for a check worth $10,000 and were to be sold on Saturday. You’ll recognize some of the names from Nate’s posts up above.

1. Stace Smith’s Curly Bill, 91.5 points, $10,000
2. Russ Kling’s Senora, 88.5, $4,500
3. Ward Macza’s Banshee, 84.5, $3,500
4. Leismeister Buckiy’s My Maria, 84,5 $2,500
5. Cooper Clan’s Mojo Bone, 83.5, $1,500
6. Daniel Beard’s Black Hay, 80.5 $1,000

As a note it was explained to me that Banshee from Ward Macza placed higher due to a higher score overall. Six scores were taken with the highest and lowest dropped. Banshee’s total was 127.5 compared to the 124.5 from My Maria.

Stay tuned as more updates are published from the sale front.
