The Cochrane Lions Club Announces Return of Rodeo for 2021

The Cochrane Lions Club is delighted to announce the return of the community rodeo for 2021.

This year’s theme, Reboot Your Western Spirit, will be a celebration of family and friends reunited and a community coming together again. Kevin Firkus, Rodeo Chairman notes, “Cochrane has always been known for it’s community spirit during the Labour Day long weekend and we are eager to continue the custom.”

Although following provincial guidelines and AHS requirements will be a must, the Cochrane Lions Club Rodeo is looking forward to presenting a traditional Western event with time-honoured familiar features. “What a great year to bring rodeo back, as rodeo is proposed as the provincial sport” said Chris Connon, incoming Cochrane Lions Club President. “You can expect to see cowboys and cowgirls competing in traditional rodeo events such as bronc riding, roping, barrel racing, bull riding and kids events, each day from Saturday September 4th to Monday September 6th”.*

If the Cochrane Lions Club Rodeo isn’t enough for you, there are three other rodeos happening different days of the same weekend. Head up or down the Cowboy Trail and catch Water Valley Rodeo, Airdrie Rodeo and Caroline Rodeo.

So, dust off those boots, brush off that hat, shine up the buckle and get ready to get your rodeo spirit on!
