MANOR, Saskatchewan — As the second to last event on the PBR Canada schedule in July, the Manor Fun Daze PBR means the busiest run of the season is coming to a close.
No one has won more in PBR Canada competition than Australia’s Lachlan Richardson this month, solidifying his spot in the Top 35 in the PBR’s World Standings nearly on Canadian competition alone. And guess what? He’s the returning champ from right here in Manor.
This year there are two rounds of competition, $10,000 in added prize money and an additional set of steers for the steer riding event. In Round 1, which has already been draw each rider will compete. At the conclusion of Round 1 the bulls for Round 2 will be chosen by the riders based on their placings in Round 1.
It’s going to be yet another exciting year in Manor, bull riding begins at 6:30pm local time.
Brock Radford vs. Legolas
On Tuesday night, PBR Canada No. 1 Brock Radford was in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. On Wednesday night, he and traveling partner Lonnie West were in Salinas, California. There, Radford rode to a fifth place finish after going 2-for-2 to earn 10 world points. On Thursday they rode in Morris, Manitoba. On Friday the two are in Czar Lake, Alberta before riding in Manor, heading back to Edmonton on Sunday and then hitting Cheyenne, Wyoming on Monday night. Legolas is a four year old from event host Andy Robertson and the R-Saga Ranch and solid white bull that Brock will be happy to have.
Nick Tetz vs. Arnie
A solid paint bull from the Wild Hoggs, I think I’ve picked this bull almost every time. Nick is riding well right now after earning his first PBR win in Lloydminster a week ago today. Tetz also made a solid ride in Oyen on Wednesday in Round 1 for a fifth place finish. Tetz is leading the Rookie of the Year race right now and should improve his ranks against Arnie.
Zane Lambert vs. Up In Smoke
According to bull hauler Monty Phillips from the Wild Hoggs north division, 420 Up In Smoke is a white spotted bull on the right delivery. He should go out two and to the left. He’s a Gun Smoke (Skori Bucking Bulls) embryo calf. Lonnie West tamed him for 84 points in Round 1 in Kinsella. “He’s kinda like a Jurassic Park dinosaur… except he’s a bull… and he’s real,” said Phillips. I have to give points on this bull’s name as well. Fitting.
Lachlan Richardson vs. Black Bath
On Day 2 of the Ranchman’s PBR BullBustin’ Matt Triplett rode Black Bath for 87 points. There, the black horned bull, covered some ground and spun both ways. Since Cluny on July 2nd, Richardson has catapulted his way into the No. 2 spot in the Canadian Standings and all the way up to No. 34 in the PBR’s World Standings. He’s on a heater and I bet he wins Round 1 on this Vold bucker.
