Energy Equine Locks Down on Giving Back at Daines Ranch

INNISFAIL, Alberta – It has been a challenging year for the rodeo world to say the least. Various association finals and season events will have to wait until 2021 due to relying heavily on large spectator attendance and many other logistical obstacles.

With new guidelines in place for rodeos, specifically outdoor events, a few have emerged during 2020. Lockdown at the Ranch on September 4th and 5th, 2020 at the Daines Ranch Rodeo grounds is one of them. Funds raised at the event will be going towards community mental health projects and improving the rodeo grounds which annually hosts Night at the Ranch, Innisfail Pro Rodeo, and the Ivan Daines Country Music Picnic.

Energy Equine Veterinary Services have stepped up in a big way contributing $5,000 towards prize monies which will be split through five different events: Barrel Racing, Team Roping, Steer Wrestling, Tie Down Roping and Break Away Roping. Client Appreciation Bonuses are being offered to all clients of Energy Equine who have used their services within the past two years. Energy Equine was actively looking for a unique and innovative way to give back to their clients who have supported their clinic throughout this challenging year.

The Lockdown came at the perfect time. Founder, Dr. Chad Hewlett says the idea of a client bonuses came from one of his associate veterinarians, Dr. Becky Tees.

“Originally, Becky thought hosting our own rodeo would be a fantastic way to give back, but the logistics of planning the rodeo seemed a little insurmountable during our busy season,” Hewlett said, “We love the idea of giving back to the entire rodeo community through added money, while being able to directly impact our own client’s in a variety of ways at the same time. It’s a win-win for our team, and we are really excited to be on board this year!”

The weekend will wrap up with a Top 10 Showdown with all five events at 7:00PM on the Saturday.
