Garrett Green wins in Claresholm

CLARESHOLM, Alberta — Garrett Green earned his first win of the 2017 Canadian Pro Rodeo Association season at the fourth Chad Besplug Invitational on Saturday night.

Green rode Pound the Alarm, recently bought back from the US of A by the Wild Hoggs, for a huge 91 point effort in the final round of competition.

Round one: 1. (tie) Garrett Green on Girletz Rodeo’s 68 Blue Print and Brock Radford on Girletz Rodeo’s 3 Stuntman Ray, 84.5 points, $1,524.60 each; 3. Tyler Pankewitz, 84, $871.20; 4. Tyler Pankewitz, 83.5, $435.60.

Finals: 1. Garrett Green on Wild Hoggs’ 917 Pound The Alarm, 91 points, $1,000.

Aggregate and total money won: 1. Garrett Green – Meeting Creek, AB – 175.5 on two bulls, $5,472.16; 2. Brock Radford – De Winton, AB – 84.5 points on one, $3,963.42; 3. Tyler Pankewitz – Ponoka, AB – 84, $2,802.36; 4. Tyler Pankewitz – 83.5, $1,858.56; 5. (tie) Todd Chotowetz – Major, SK and Wesley Silcox – Santaquin, UT and Tanner Girletz – Bowden, AB – 83, $474.32 each
