Besplug Invitational Begins in Claresholm

CLARESHOLM, Alberta — The 2015 Canadian Pro Rodeo Association season is underway after tonight’s steer riding competition from the Claresholm Agriplex.

As the kickoff for the second Chad Besplug Invitational, the steer riding featured $1,000 in added prize money for the 14 contestants. Carter Sahli earned the top spot picking up over $717 followed by Cauy Lawes a point back for $538.

Justin Hok took the freestyle bullfight while Kyle Brown from Cremona earned the victory in the junior bulls. The biggest check of the evening went to the Wild Hoggs crew with their futurity bull branded #390 for over $1,700.
