BANFF, Alberta — The 5th annual Back on Track Canadian Cowboy Ski Race takes place on March 18th, 2017 at Mount Norquay.
The Back on Track Canadian Cowboy Ski Race puts Canada’s Top Rodeo Cowboys and Cowgirls against the Canadian Rockies Steepest Slopes! Do you have what it takes to buck the mountain?
All proceeds benefit the Canadian Pro Rodeo Sports Medicine Team, with over $50,000 being raised in the first four years.
- 8:30am – 11:00am: Competitor Check-in inside the Cascade Lodge.
- 1:30pm: Athletes load the Cascade chair and head to top of course
- 2:00pm: Dual slalom races on Cascade stampede course.
- 3:30pm: Stampede downhill race begins on Cascade stampede course.
- 6:30pm: Dinner function at Wild Bill’s Saloon in Banff
You can register online by visiting the link, sending an e-transfer and email to one of our organisers, or purchase tickets on Saturday March 18th at the Resort! Visit the registration desk in the Cascade Lodge from 8:30am to 11:00am. Entries open to all past and previous rodeo and chuckwagon contestants, personnel, stock contractors and committee members.

LAKE LOUISE, Alberta — We are proud to announce that the 3rd Annual Back on Track Canadian Cowboy Ski Race presented by Ranchman’s has once again raised over $10,000 for the Canadian Pro Rodeo Sports Medicine Team bringing the three-year total to over $34,000.
This year’s race at the Lake Louise Ski Area featured 62 contestants and over 110 attendees for the evening supper, awards, silent auction and dance festivities.
NFR Qualifier and Calgary Stampede $100,000 winner Straws Milan was the biggest winner on the day taking home the Becker buckle as the Stampede Race Champion for 2015. Our top skier in the Slalom Race on the men’s side of things was Logan Young who earned a jacket courtesy of Ranchman’s and Crown Royal. Middle-age Joe Guze of Drayton Valley, AB earned the Alberta Premium prize pack for finishing as the top snowboarder while Sasha Scheffelmaier picked up a $500 shopping spree from Lammle’s Western Wear and Tack for her win as the top lady.
A huge thank-you goes out to the sponsors of this event for their support. In total, the 2014 Back on Track Canadian Cowboy Ski Race presented by Ranchman’s donated over $10,000 to the Canadian Pro Rodeo Sports Medicine Team bringing the two year total to nearly $24,000!
Annalise Blishen and Jessica Hansen were your champions from the event held at the Lake Louise Ski Resort in March of 2014. Blishen took home a $1,000 trophy belt buckle made by Becker Buckles for her Stampede Race win while Hansen took home a pair of Dan Post Boots donated by Lammles along with a hoodie from Go4Snow.ca and a toque from Back on Track for being the top competitor in the ski and boarder cross races.
Second overall went to Scott Wyzykoski who was the fastest man on skis in the cross races, he took home a Back on Track toque and a leather jacket courtesy of Ranchman’s and Crown Royal. Sam Trottier got himself another Big Chief Beef Jerky Prize Pack for being the top male snowboarder along with a Back on Track toque. Annalise Blishen was also the top female skier which gave her a Big Chief Beef Jerky Prize Pack.
