Cochrane, AB: This year’s Cochrane Classic Bull Riding is once again part of Summerfest. CPRA Bull Riding action begins at 7:30pm.
Admission to Summerfest is $5 while a ticket to the Bull Riding is $30. You can do both for a cool $35.
These are a few of the match-ups to look out for on Saturday Night:
Tyler Thomson vs. Silver City – Tyler currently sits fourth in the Canadian Standings. A good finish here will help him not have to go as much the rest of the year, which he would like. 2010 Canadian Champion Jesse Torkelson rode this left tri-colored Outlaw Bucker the other day in Calgary at Ranchman’s for an 87. Anything less on Saturday for Tyler and he should be made fun of.
Tyler Pankewitz vs. Weird Al – Pank should get along real good with this strait black horned bull of the Franklin Rodeo Company. With Aaron Roy in Wanham, Weird Al spun to the left right in the gate. My bet is on Tyler spurring this one to an 86 like Aaron’s on his way to a repeat championship in Cochrane.
Jody Turner vs. Red Bull – Hometown Cowboy, Jody Turner, should like this “Red Bull” of Franklin’s. Jody started a big ride in Calgary the other day on a bull that looks similar to this one. Recently rode for an 88 in Merritt, BC by Chase Outlaw, Turner has got a shot for a Long Go win here.
Cole Collins vs. Super Too – Cole is currently 18th on the 2013 road to the CFR. With $7,700 won after the East Run, he’s right in the fight to get into the top twelve. Super Too has been a great bull this year and should be just right for right-handed Collins. Australian, Cliff Richardson, spurred this one to an 89 back in Fort St. John in April.
