Strathmore Stampede Kicks Off August Long Weekend

STRATHMORE,Alberta – The 2014 Strathmore Stampede is quickly approaching. The Stampede has been held on August long weekend since 1966. There will be plenty of action from Friday, August 1 to Monday, August 4. The CPRA approved rodeo will host the most talented rodeo competitors in Canada. Bring your friends to bet on the WPCA chuckwagon races. And don’t forget about Strathmore’s signature event – The Running with the Bulls.

Strathmore Stampede is the only event in Canada that hosts a Running with the Bulls opportunity. No need to travel all the way to Spain if you’re a thrill seeker. This will be Strathmore’s 11th year to host the event and it is only expected to get bigger and better.

“The secret is don’t turn your back,” said Dwayne from Quebec who is a previous winner of the event.

Running with the Bulls summons out all different kinds of people from across Canada. It’s only a $25 fee to take part in the event and anyone can sign up behind the grandstands the day of. The event will take place at 6 p.m. on both Saturday, August 2 and Sunday, August 3.

Tickets are on sale now. Rodeo, chuckwagon tickets, and weekend passes are all available. Grandstand tickets can be purchased by calling 403-934-5811 or by visiting TICKETMASTER. Prices range from $12 to $27.

For all the technology savvy rodeo hands and fans, Strathmore Stampede also has an app that can be downloaded by searching “Strathmore Ag.” The app has a schedule, general info, activites, and a “StrathCam” to upload pictures. The app has everything you need to know about Beer Gardens, the Trade Show, and the Saturday Cabaret.
