CPRA Rodeos now co-approved PRCA Circuit Rodeos

MEDICINE HAT SPRING RODEO WILL TENTATIVELY BE THE FIRST CPRA RODEO CO APPROVED WITH THE MONTANA PRCA CIRCUIT

That’s what the top line of RodeoCanada.Com said today. Here’s a further explanation from the CPRA:

The CPRA & PRCA have arranged a new exciting agreement!

Rodeos that fall within the PRCA Circuit co approval guidelines will now be able to designate a Circuit they would like to be co approved with. Any rodeo within 100 driving miles of a PRCA Circuit that has less than $5000 added will now be is eligible for co approval with a Circuit as long as they are CPRA/PRCA approved. This will be a great opportunity for contestants and rodeos on both sides of the border as there are approximately 9 rodeos that will be eligible under these guidlines. For more information please contact the CPRA office.

This may be one of the best news to come between the rodeo associations in both Canada and the United States. I see it bringing more contestants from Canada into the United States for the PRCA Circuit Rodeos since many haven’t done so in the past. It should up the Canadian membership numbers in the PRCA as well as get more contestants into Canada from the United States since many of their circuit rodeos will now be on Canadian Soil.

This in my opinion is just the beginning of the CPRA and it’s many improvements that will bring our sport to a new higher level. It’s a win-win situation for both parties. I’m looking forward to 2012. What about you??
