Camrose, AB: Nansen Vold goes over some of the key match-ups for this August Long Weekend’s Bulls For Breakfast
CPRA Bull Riding at the Big Valley Jamboree in this article.
This has got to be one of the most full bull ridings in Canada for those of you that haven’t been. It starts at 1:00pm Thursday and then 10:00am from Friday to Sunday. If you are anywhere near, you should make your way over to the Camrose Regional Exhibition grounds. Some of the top names in Country Music will be there too! A couple of the highlights this year include Toby Keith, Rascal Flatts, Charlie Major. The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band will be part of tomorrow night’s Kick Off Party also.
From here out it’s Nansen with his picks.

Garret Green vs. WV860 Color Coded – This is a little red and white bull that is only four years old. He has been real good this season for us. He doesn’t have a lot of kick but is really quick. He’s been getting better every trip. I look to see Garrett ride this one for a mid 80 point score. Garretts been riding very solid and is going to look good on top of this one.
Garrett rides last week in Oyen on the Girletz Bull Gambler.
Zane Lambert vs. WV500 Kin Deadly – Kin Deadly is the one every bull rider wants to draw. He’s going to get you to the pay window every time. He’s got a ton of up and down action that feels real smooth, but if you stub your toe on him he will bring you to the ground. I can’t see Zane making a mistake here. I know he is real happy to have him and I expect to see an 84 to 86 point score. Should be good watching.
Ben Kinkead rides Kin Deadly to an 85.5 point score for a third place finish at the Stavely Inoor Pro Rodeo back in May.
Beau Hill vs. TPB W25 Smoke Show – This is a young Bull Ty Presscott just picked up from Derick Adams. This bull has a ton of breeding behind him to be a super star. I have only seen this bull one time on video and looked real good for a young calf. This bull isn’t very big, so he’s not going to fit Beau real well. But I saw Beau ride a bull in Cochrane in the short round that has a lot of the same tracks. So he should snap this one no problem.
New Zealand Bull Rider Adam Jamison riding Smoke Show about six weeks ago at the Southern Classic.
Tanner Byrne vs. WV777 Witching Hour – Witching Hour is a little five year old the has really picked it up this season. He’s got a lot of forward action and very hard to track. He’s a bull that will switch it up every other trip so you really don’t know what he’s going to do. Tanner is very hot as of late, winning money every where he shows up. This little bull is going to test him for sure, but the way he’s been staying on I think he should get him covered for a big score.
2008 Canadian Champion Tyler Thomson rides Witching Hour at the Jace Harty Memorial in Ponoka on the 20th of June for an 82.
Tanner Girletz vs. FHRC836 I’m A Punk – Tanner is just coming off a big win in Morris Manitoba. He is just out side a CFR spot, so he will determined to stay on everything that he gets on. Tanner has been known to get hot late in the season, and I expect this year to me no exception. This is a good young bull that comes from Lorne High that has a lot of kick and speed. This should be a very good match up, that could be the the high score for the weekend.
