CALGARY, Alberta — Today is the day the Calgary Stampede write the checks for $100,000.
Two Canadian’s have qualified for the final four in the Tie Down Roping. Morgan Grant and Curtis Cassidy finished the round in second and fourth. Neither will leave here with less than another $10,000 check. Matt Shiozawa and Tuf Cooper have also qualified.
In the Bareback, Dusty LaValley has another shot to get his first $100,000 check here in Calgary. His 88.5 was third best in today’s ten round. Kaycee Field topped this round with his 91.5 while Steven Peebles and Austin Foss also join the mix at 89 and 87 respectively.
Morgan Grant now has a shot to win over $200,000 today. He split the round in the Steer Wrestling with a 3.7 in the ten round. Grant would be the first person ever to do so. Billy Bugenig, Trevor Knowles and Tyler Pearson have also qualified with times of 3.7, 4.0 and 4.1.
Dustin Flundra rode Wayne Vold’s Pedro to an 88.5 for second place in the ten round. Wade Sundell took first there with an 89.5 for his shot at the big check followed by Chad Ferley and Jacobs Crawley at 88.
After making it back in yesterday’s Wild Card Round, Fallon Taylor kept things going with her 17.65 in the ten round for a tie of first place. Kaley Bass matched that time along with Jean Winters at 17.85 and Britany Diaz with her 17.89.

Here’s how to keep in the loop whether or not you’re at the rodeo, at home or at work!
