Calgary, AB: Going into Day Eight and the last chance for Pool B competitors to make it strait to Showdown Sunday, we’ve got a few Canadian’s that have already made it and a number who are within reach.
Dusty LaValley leads all Bareback Riders with $12,000 thus far with $2,500 of which coming from an 88.5 marking today on Calgary’s Simply Marvelous while wearing the CBC Video Glasses. Clint Laye currently sits fourth with $5,000 won and will likely need another check tomorrow to make it back without help from Wild Card Saturday. Luke Creasy isn’t far behind with $3,000 won thus far.
Riley Warren sits fifth in the Tie Down Roping with $5,000 in winnings thus far. Hunter Herrin is $500 ahead of him for fourth.
In the Saddle Bronc, Dustin Flundra has picked up checks totalling $8,500 after three days. $2,500 of which came from an 85 today on Growney’s Holy Hoppin’ Hell. Sam Kelts won second today with an 87.5 on Calgary’s Mata Fact and sits in a tie for sixth with $4,500 won.
Lindsay Sears and Cranna Roberts both have won a check so far but need to win tomorrow if they want to avoid another run on Saturday.
In the Bull Riding, Jody Turner has yet to cover a bull. Aaron Roy has $4,500 won thus far but was taken out of the arena on a stretcher after getting stepped on by Sawyer’s big jersey looking bull they call Gretzky. This is the latest update from Jason Davidson on Twitter.

JB Mauney and Valdiron de Oliveira have ensured their spot on Sunday’s Finals as the only riders to win rounds thus far. They both had one going into today and split today’s round with 87.5 points each.
