#Stampede101 – Day Five Preview

Calgary, AB: It’s hard to believe we’re already at the halfway point of this year’s Calgary Stampede. Again and again I’m hearing stories of the generosity and kindness going around our great province.

This morning the first thing I read was about how Chuckwagon Driver Jason Glass donated all of his $6,000 in day money back to help with the flood relief efforts.

Megan Madden of Southpaw Communications notified me this morning of Rae Croteau Jr. doing something similar. You can read her full press release here.  Rae is donating a portion of his winnings and encouraging his sponsors to match it.

I think it’s pretty cool for these competitors to help and give back to a place that’s been there for them along the way too.

Yesterday I had my first story published at PBR.com. I’ve been working for the PBR this week doing some interviews as well.

I talked to 2011 PRCA World Champion and current PBR World Standings number five – Shane Proctor yesterday about his round win.

Today, the Calgary Stampede Bull named after this very site, 868 Everything Cowboy, has drawn deep in the bull rider pen. He’s got Valdiron de Oliveira. I’m looking forward to being there to see what happens this time around.

We’ve got a rank pen of bulls and bull riders coming up in Pool B. We haven’t cracked 90 in the bulls yet this week but I’m thinking we will in the next few days.

For full Calgary Stampede results, go on over to the Calgary Stampede Website.

The CBC Sports Live Stream is available here.

Joe Braniff and Duane Daines are working alongside the Fan 960 AM for a live broadcast of the rodeo all ten days. It’s also streamed live online at their website.
