#Stampede101 – Day Eight

Calgary, AB: Pool B wrapped up today. We’ve got a few Canadians coming back to Showdown Sunday. The Steer Riding finished up this afternoon too with Utah’s Stetson Wright taking home the trophy bronze. Stetson score 86.5 points today which may be one of the highest scores ever in the Steer Riding. Kagen Schmidt didn’t have as high of a total on two but left with his head held high.

Bronc Rider Dustin Flundra is back for Sunday’s Ten Round. He had consistent scores between 83 and 85 and won $11,000 over four days to finish third. Luke Butterfield and Sam Kelts didn’t have the best luck over the past four days and compete again tomorrow.

Dusty LaValley leads all Bareback Riders with $14,500 won in Pool B. As previously said earlier in the week, he’s looking for first after coming second last year. Clint Laye and Luke Creasy are on tap for tomorrow for their last chance at seeing Sunday.

Murray Pole tied for fourth in the Tie Down but has to come back Saturday since Hunter Herrin won the tiebreaker. $5,500 in winnings isn’t too shabby at this point all things considered. All it takes is three good runs to still win that $100,000. Logan Hofer and Riley Warren are in the same boat.

Cody Cassidy and Zane Henkel both ensured their top ten spot on Sunday in the Steer Wrestling while Tanner Milan and Rowdy Hays have to come back tomorrow. Straws Milan has a possible ligament tear in his knee and did not compete today.

In the Barrel Racing, Lindsay Sears and Cranna Roberts both got some money out of Pool B but are putting all their eggs in one basket in the Wild Card Round.

Jody Turner was the Lone Canadian today after Aaron’s incident yesterday. Turner is back tomorrow. They won the round on Trendon today of Wild Hoggs with an 88 by LJ Jenkins. Nate Gardner or Rafter G Cattle Company brought Moe Banger to town for Austin Meier to win second on him today only a half point back. Nate and I both figured Austin would win the round. If we were judging it he may just have too.
